Reframing this hand-printed black-and-white photograph has given it a new life.
I have always believed that the right frame, through its material and colour, can enhance and complement the story a photograph is trying to tell.
This photographic work was created in 2004 while I was a student at London College of Communication.
Looking back now, those long days spent printing photographs in the darkroom feel incredibly precious.
Black-and-white photography trains the eye to see details and develop a sensitivity to light and shadow. The right photographic paper also enhances the quality of a hand-printed photograph.
This is a texture and quality that cannot be achieved through modern photographic technology.
The clothing and accessories worn by the model were also personally designed and handcrafted by me.
